Consultation Rate: From SGD120/hr
Farzana Mohsin is a dedicated Parent Coach specializing in special needs, with both lived experience and formal training in neurodiversity. As a mother of a neurodiverse child, her journey began with a personal mission—to better understand and support her son’s developmental needs. This led her to leave her corporate career in 2019 and immerse herself in the world of neurodiversity, equipping herself with knowledge from specialists, extensive research, and formal education in special needs.
Farzana holds a Diploma in Disability Studies from the College of Allied Educators and has completed Module 1 in the Khrysalis Coaching Series, a International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited programme. Her background also includes a Master of Science in Marketing Management, giving her a unique perspective on advocacy and communication within the special needs space.
Experience and Expertise
Farzana’s experience is deeply rooted in both personal and professional practice. She has applied various interventions—including behavioural strategies, sensory integration, diet modifications, and biomedical approaches—to support her child’s growth.
Through her work in an inclusive school’s admissions team, she has also guided countless parents navigating the complexities of neurodiversity, helping them make informed decisions about schooling, therapies, and interventions.
As a Parent Coach, Farzana empowers parents with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to advocate for their children. She provides tailored guidance in areas such as:
- Understanding Neurodiversity: Helping parents recognize their child’s strengths and challenges, making sense of behaviours, and identifying effective support strategies.
- Therapies and Interventions: Offering insights into behavioural therapy, sensory integration, speech and language therapy, and alternative approaches like diet adjustments and biomedical interventions.
- Educational Navigation: Assisting parents in choosing the right schooling options based on their child’s unique needs.
- Parenting Strategies: Equipping families with practical tools to manage daily challenges, including behaviour regulation, sensory needs, and sleep health.
- Emotional Support: Providing a compassionate space for parents to share their experiences, process emotions, and find reassurance in their journey.
